I want to create a documentary about lockdown, this is such a huge part of our lives at the moment so i think it will be successful. for this documentary I want to explore the subject of staying at home and how everything is crumbling around us like businesses and not being able to go to college and work and how that is affecting us physically and emotionally.
I didn't have any other ideas because my heart was so set on making this documentary because like i said we are so surrounded by this new world.
For the mode of documentary I’m leaning more towards expository with hints of observational and participatory.
There will be so much real footage of the affects the lockdown has had, so lots of different shot of closed down and failed business and also an empty shut college. Participatory because I will actually have to film myself in one shot because i want to include a student doing work at home( which most of us having been doing instead of attending college and school ect.) but because of the lockdown i can not have a friend filmed because i want it to be realist so at home in bed. The documentary will also be expository because it will be educational to the audience by showing what lockdown had done to the economy and people mental health.
Because I do want to include an interview I will be doing this with my friend Pippa who is in my support bubble but also filming when going on our 1 hour daily exercise, this so annoying because I actually wanted to do a formal interview sat down in a studio type area so there wouldn't be diegetic noises but this could be more affective because it can show that not even things can be filmed properly because of lockdown. Because the restrictions I will have to do the filming on one day and the interview on the next.

Interview questions
How do you feel about lockdown?
How has lockdown affected you?
Will lockdown affect you long-term?
What do you miss the most?
I feel like these are good questions to ask, they are very similar but can be answered very differently and everyone can have different answers. All the questions link to the effect of lockdown, the consequences and the impact to everyone. For he interview I decided on a student interviewee who also works in hospitality she seems to have had a really hard hit from lockdown not only stopping her from working but also getting her education. the last question really pushes out the emotion and what we had one taken for granted and I feel as if when the audience see this they will stop and think about what they miss which creates a little sadness and makes us realise like what it actually been taken away.
Archival footage.
for my documentary to have so much affect I can use archival footage to my advantage her, I can get an emotional respace by using Boris Johnston announcement as I feel like everyone when they hear that tunes in because it reminded them of the weird and difficult situation we have been in for the past year.
For sound I want to use sombre background music to add to the sad and difficult subject.
Music
I love this for a choice because it starts off sad which will work so well with my plan, it also becomes more upbeat which I think will be great because the information in the documentary will also thicken.
Location choice.
For my documentary I think the centre of a town would be the best place to fil to show the effects of coronavirus and lockdown has done to shops and what better place then the centre of where people would normally would be swarming and crowding to shop. therefore I chose to shoot in my local town centre in King Lynn as I have experienced what lockdown has done when shopping for essentials shops are out of business and everywhere looks so lonely and eerie.
